As someone who has a love-hate relationship with cold weather, I know that the holiday season doesn’t have to mean bundling up in layers or braving icy weather.
If you’re craving sunshine and warmth this Christmas, there are plenty of destinations across the United States where you can leave the cold behind. From tropical beaches to deserts, here are ten perfect spots to enjoy a sunny, stress-free holiday season.
1. Miami, Florida
Trade snow for sand in Miami, where you’ll find palm-lined beaches, art deco vibes, and lively nightlife. December temperatures hover in the 70s and 80s, making it ideal for a holiday spent lounging on South Beach or exploring the trendy Wynwood Art District. Miami’s Latin-inspired cuisine and festive atmosphere will make your Christmas unforgettable.
I recommend heading to Espanola Way in the evening to experience the bars and restaurants come to life. It’s one of my favorite places in Florida for mouthwatering cuisine.
